Common questions
Everything people usually ask
How much do ski lessons cost?
All my lessons are private and the price is per lesson, not per person (up to 6 people of the same level): 2 hours €120, 4 hours €220 and a full day (6 h) €380. You'll find the detail on the prices page.
Where do you teach?
My base is Ordino Arcalís, where I teach lessons of any length. I also teach in Grandvalira (Soldeu, Pas de la Casa, El Tarter…) and in Pal Arinsal, with a minimum booking of half a day. We decide based on your level and where you're staying.
What levels do you teach?
All of them: from people who have never skied to experienced skiers who want to polish their technique. I work on first-timers, losing your fear, moving from the snowplough to parallel turns, and advanced technique such as carving.
From what age can children start?
Generally from age 3 or 4, always adapting the lesson to their age, with games and a lot of patience. There's more detail on the kids' ski lessons page.
What languages do you teach in?
English, Spanish and Catalan. One of the reasons to book a private instructor is knowing for certain that your lesson will be in your language.
How do I book a lesson?
Directly with me on WhatsApp, with no middlemen. Tell me your dates, your level and who's coming, and I'll confirm availability. I reply within 24 hours.
Does the price include the lift pass and equipment?
No. The lesson covers the teaching; the lift pass (access to the lifts) and equipment hire are paid separately. I'm happy to advise you on both before you buy anything.
How many days do I need to learn to ski?
Most adults starting from scratch are skiing blue runs on their own after two or three well-used days. What matters most is continuity and starting well.
I've never skied — is that a problem?
Quite the opposite: teaching people from scratch is what I enjoy most. We start with the basics — stance, stopping, the snowplough — on easy terrain and with no rush, so you gain confidence from the first minute.
I'm nervous, or I think I'm too old to start. Can I still learn?
Yes, and you're not the only one. I work a lot with adults who start later in life or who ski with fear. We go at your pace, away from the crowds and on good terrain.
What clothing and equipment do I need?
Warm layers, gloves, a hat, goggles and sun protection; the rest (skis, boots, poles, helmet) can be hired. If you're not sure what to hire, I'll advise you.
What if the weather is bad on the day of the lesson?
Andorra has many sectors and there's nearly always a sheltered one. If the forecast brings wind or snow, we change the meeting point so you still make the most of it. If the weather made it unworkable, we find another date — just let me know as early as you can on WhatsApp.
Can I have a lesson with friends or as a family?
Yes. Up to 6 people of the same level can share a lesson, and as the price is per lesson, it works out very well in a group. For families with different levels, we organise it in turns or sub-groups. See family and group lessons.
Still not sure about something? Message me on WhatsApp and I'll answer honestly — even if the answer is that a group lesson suits you better. You can also look at the prices, the private lessons or the reviews.
