Private ski lessons in Pal Arinsal — Vallnord's family resort
Pal Arinsal has two sectors with very different characters: Pal, tree-lined and family-friendly for starting out; and Arinsal, with more gradient for progressing. A calm atmosphere and easy logistics with children — and a familiar base for many British visitors. I travel to Pal Arinsal with bookings of half a day or more.

Two sectors, one resort
Pal and Arinsal: two sides with different characters
Pal Arinsal, in the Vallnord ski area, has one feature worth knowing before you book: they are two connected but very different sectors. Choosing the right one for your level changes the experience.
Pal — tree-lined, sunny and family-friendly
Pal is the gentler, more sheltered sector, with tree-lined pistes and a real family atmosphere. It's where I recommend starting: beginner lessons work beautifully here, with wide, calm areas for first-timers and children.
Arinsal — more gradient to progress
Arinsal has steeper, more continuous gradient, ideal for gaining confidence quickly once you have a base. Lessons in Arinsal are perfect for the intermediate skier who wants to step up without heading into a huge ski area.
For families
Ski lessons in Pal Arinsal for families and beginners
If you're travelling as a family, Pal Arinsal is one of my favourite resorts to recommend. The atmosphere is calmer and less crowded than in the big ski areas, the logistics with children are easy, and there are learning areas designed for the youngest. Lessons work especially well as a family or group here, because the price is per lesson and not per person.
Getting there
Access: La Massana, Pal and Arinsal
There are two main ways into the ski area: the La Massana gondola, which goes straight up to the Pal sector, and the Arinsal base, with access from the village itself — very convenient when you're travelling with children and kit. The two sectors are linked by a gondola higher up, so you can move between them without spending long out of your skis.
When you book, I'll confirm which base we're meeting at — Pal or Arinsal — depending on what we're going to work on and where you're staying.
Your instructor
A private instructor in Pal Arinsal
As my base is Ordino Arcalís, travelling to Pal Arinsal requires bookings of half a day (4 hours) or a full day. You'll have an instructor dedicated only to you or your group, choosing the right sector — Pal to start, Arinsal to progress — for your level and for the day's conditions.
Price
Ski lesson prices in Pal Arinsal
Prices by session length: half day (4 hours) from €220 and full day (6 hours) from €380. The 2-hour lesson (from €120) is only available at my base, Ordino Arcalís.
The price is per lesson, for up to 6 people of the same level, so in a group the cost each drops a lot. Lift passes and equipment hire are extra.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions about lessons in Pal Arinsal
What's the difference between the Pal and Arinsal sectors?
Pal is gentler, tree-lined and sunnier, perfect for starting out and for children; Arinsal has steeper, more continuous gradient, ideal for progressing once you have a base. They're linked by a gondola higher up, so in one lesson we can use whichever sector suits your level, or even combine both.
How do I get up to Pal Arinsal from La Massana?
There's a gondola from La Massana that goes straight up to the Pal sector, very convenient if you're staying in the village. The other option is the Arinsal base, with access from Arinsal itself. When you book I'll tell you which base we're meeting at, depending on what we're going to work on.
Is Pal Arinsal good for young children?
Very much so. It's one of Andorra's most family-friendly resorts: a calm atmosphere, fewer crowds than the big ski areas and learning areas designed for little ones, especially in the Pal sector. The logistics with children and kit are straightforward.
Do I need a minimum booking for lessons in Pal Arinsal?
Yes. As my base is Ordino Arcalís, travelling to Pal Arinsal requires bookings of half a day (4 hours) or a full day. The shorter 2-hour lesson is only available at Ordino Arcalís.
Where do we meet in Pal Arinsal?
At the Pal base (the top of the La Massana gondola) or at the Arinsal base, depending on your level and where you're staying. I'll confirm the exact meeting point when you book on WhatsApp.
Is there a snowpark or freestyle area in Pal Arinsal?
Yes, Pal Arinsal has freestyle areas and features that older children and teenagers enjoy a lot. If your child already skis and wants to start on jumps and rails, we take that into account when planning the lesson, always with safety first.
Is parking easy at Pal Arinsal?
There's parking both at the Arinsal base and at La Massana for the Pal gondola. On busy dates it's worth arriving early; if you're unsure about access on the day, I'll advise you when we confirm the booking.
